Picture Day

Picture Day is this Wednesday @ 3:10. You may have your child bring a change of clothes if you don't want their picture day clothes to get dirty.

VGA Testing

The Virginia Growth Assessment will be done twice a year (fall and winter). The purpose of these tests is to measure growth and to target areas of need. These tests are similar to our SOLs (Standards of Learning) state tests which will be taken in the spring. For third grade our VGA testing schedule is as follows:

Fall..............Reading: Sep 27 and Math: Oct 6

Winter........Reading: Dec 6 and Math: Dec 15.

Interims Sent Home Thurs 9/29

Dates for sending interims home are: September 29, December 8, March 9 and May 18.

Thursday Folders

Please check Thursday Folders each week. I plan to keep them as simple as possible this year and not overload them. Classwork you can find in red folder on the "take-home" side. Assessments and important items will be sent home in Thursday folders.

Red Take-Home Folders

Students will be keeping classwork papers in here that they bring home. Please help them keep this folder cleaned out by checking it every Friday to remove papers. This will give you a chance to see what they are doing in school. You may have them work on any unfinished work in their red folder for homework.

Please Charge Computers Overnight

Your child may take their computer home to work on their educational programs like Reflex Math and Lexia. Please charge it overnight, every night so it's good to go the next day. When students come to school with a dead battery it creates disruptions.
