Academics (Summary of Last Week)
Math- Student learned how to represent fractions, mixed numbers, and improper fractions. They compared fractions with like and unlike denominators. We had an assessment on fractions this week which will be sent home in Thursday folders soon.
Reading- Students are conducting research about a topic in ancient Egypt. They learned how to use the table of contents and the index to find information.
Writing- Students are taking notes from books using their own words in regards to their research questions. This week we will use online websites as resources.
History- Students learned the definition of resource is "something that is used." There are three main types, which include natural, capital, and human resources. These abundance of resources made ancient Egypt a powerful civilization. Students also learned a few contributions of ancient Egypt to modern society including paper, pyramids, and 365-day calendar.
